Pet Probiotic & Prebiotic - Dog & Cat Supplement Questions
Our Inside Out Pet Care product range is a blend of holistic ingredients to improve the general well being of your dog, cat or small pet. It will optimise intestinal health and supports a healthy and balanced immune system.
How Can A Probiotic Supplement Help My Dog Or Cat?
Did you know that the work "probiotic" actually translates from latin to literally mean "life? ie pro meaning “for” and the Greek word bios meaning “life.” Probiotics are naturally occurring and are vital organisms that are present in many parts of your pets system including the gastrointestinal tract, the oral cavity, the vagina, nose, respiratory system and also on the surface of the skin.
By introducing a supplemental dose of these "good bacteria", we can help improve the health of the gut and the entire system. They may help in digestion and help the absorption of the nutrients in the health food you are feeding your dog or cat. The live organisms (see ingredients here) help balance the good and bad bacteria in the body.
What Is The Difference Between Probiotics & Prebiotics For Your Dog Or Cat?
Probiotics in dogs and cats are the good bacteria to keep the gut healthy and balanced. We can supplement the natural population with Inside Out Pet Care. Prebiotics on the other hand provide a source of nutrition for these organisms, and help keep the population healthy and viable in the gastro intestinal system.
How Often Should You Feed Inside Out Pet Care?
The dosage will depend on your pet, ie dog or cat or other small animal, and also the size of your pet. For example a large Labrador may required a slightly larger dosage than a small poodle, or a working cattle dog may require a different dosage than an older lounge dog. Below is a feeding rate guide:
- 4kg & less - 0.62g / 1/2 scoop per day
- 5-10kg - 1.25g / 1 scoop per day
- 10-15kg - 1.87g / 1.5 scoops per day
- 16-20kg - 2.5g / 2 scoops per day
- 21-30kg - 3.75g / 3 scoops per day
- 31kg + - 5g / 4 scoops per day

What Is MSM & How Does It Work?
Methylsulfonylmethane is a naturally occuring substance in humans, animals and plants. It is generally used to reduce inflammation in the body, and can inhibit the break down of cartilage. It's also used to help recovery after exercise, and reduces muscle damage and stress.
It can also improve anti-oxidant levels by stimulating the body to synthesis glutathione, promotes a healthy metabolism, protein synthesis, and production of keratin to improve hair, hooves and skin.
